CIMP Hosts Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer Workshop in Collaboration with AICTE & MoE’s Innovation Cell  

 

Patna – Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) successfully organized a comprehensive Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer Workshop in collaboration with AICTE and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC). The workshop witnessed participation from around 150 faculty members, IIC Presidents, and conveners from all 38 districts of Bihar, who engaged in insightful discussions on innovation, intellectual property, and technology transfer.

 

The event was graced by Aditya Kumar Sinha, Director of C-DAC Patna, as the Chief Guest, along with Mr. Yogesh Brahmankar, Innovation Director, MIC, Ministry of Education, who led a special session. Ms. Sugandha Sinha, Assistant Professor at Chanakya National Law University, was also a guest speaker. The event was further enriched by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, and Mr. Kumod Kumar, CAO of CIMP and CEO of CIMP-BIIF.

 

Aditya Kumar Sinha, during his keynote speech, introduced his “ABCDEF” framework, where he emphasized the need for innovation to be Better, Cheaper, Different, Easier, or Faster. He also highlighted the challenges of information overload in the digital age, stating, “With over 1.12 billion mobile phones in India, the average person spends nearly 8 hours on their device. In such a saturated environment, only by creating something truly unique can one leave a lasting impression.”

Yogesh Brahmankar spoke about on the achievements of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), focusing on key initiatives like the Innovation,  Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) bootcamp for PM SHRI Schools, of which CIMP is also a nodal Institute. He highlighted the Smart India Hackathon, a platform where engineering students from across the country come together to solve real-world challenges.

 

He further shared, “MIC has built the world’s largest open incubation and innovation ecosystem, through mic.gov.in.”

 

Ms. Sugandha Sinha conducted an in-depth session on IP Rights and the Patent Application Process, guiding participants through the crucial steps of securing intellectual property rights to foster innovation and protect valuable ideas.

 

Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, shared, “This workshop marks an important milestone in linking academia and industry through innovation and intellectual property. It strengthens our resolve to elevate Bihar’s educational landscape to global standards.”

 

Echoing the sentiment, Mr. Kumod Kumar, CAO of CIMP and CEO of CIMP-BIIF, stated, “CIMP is dedicated to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship. This workshop empowers our community to turn innovative ideas into impactful realities, contributing to both regional and national growth.”

 

The workshop served as a vital link between education, innovation, and technology, providing participants with a solid foundation in intellectual property and technology transfer for a brighter, tech-driven future.
