CM Jai Ram Thakur felicitates N.K. Singh on release of his autobiography
Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today joined the webinar from Shimla regarding virtual release of book ‘Portraits of Power: Half a Century of Being at Ringside” authored by Chairman 15th Finance Commission N.K. Singh at Mumbai.
While felicitating N.K.Singh for penning down his autobiography, Chief Minister said that the book was not just an autobiography of a man, who for several decades has played an active role in India’s march towards becoming a formidable economy, but it profiles myriad institutions that work in harmony to make things happen.
Jai Ram Thakur said that N.K. Singh has been among the country’s top bureaucrats and has served on important posts such as Secretary to the Prime Minister, Expenditure and Revenue Secretary and Member of the Planning Commission. He was also the Principal Interlocutor with multilateral institutions during India’s balance of payments crisis.
Chief Minister expressed hope that the book would help readers to navigate the vast complexities of India, particular in economic sector. He said that the book would also go a long way in assessing India’s recent economic history.
Chairman 15th Finance Commission N.K. Singh said that book was not about his achievements, but a journey of India’ growth during about last five decades. He said that the autobiography covers all the personal and national movements that happened in his life.
