College fest organized at Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh: A four-day college fest was organized at Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University, with a score of literary, cultural and sports events in programme.

Noted Persian scholar and chief guest, Professor Azarmi Dukht Safavi, while inaugurating the fest, urged the students to participate in these events in a large numbers as these activities will help improve personality traits in them and will add to their qualification.

She said that education alone is not enough for the overall personality development and it is important for the students to bring to the fore their latent talents for getting excellence in life.

Prof Naima Khatoon, Principal of the college, underlined the significance of female education and paid rich tributes to Papa Miyan, founder of the college, and his Aala Bi, for their efforts and farsightedness.

The literary and cultural events organized during the fest, included Rangoli, Mehendi, Singing, Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Mono Acting, Mimicry and Quiz Competitions.

Prof Shabana Hameed and Prof Neelam Farzana were present on the occasion.

Dr Fouzia Usmani and Dr Kusumika Sarkar, Dr Naghma Farooqui, Dr Aisha Imtiyaz and Dr Shakira Khatoon conducted various activities.
