Competitions on ‘Punjabi Week’ started in all government schools

Chandigarh: The Punjab School Education Department has started celebrating ‘Punjabi Week’ in all government schools.

Giving this information, D.P.I. Secondary Mr. Sukhjit Pal Singh informed that Punjabi Week is being celebrated in all the primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools of the state and the school education secretary Mr. Krishan Kumar started the ‘Punjabi Week’ with an online function last evening. This online event was attended by the heads of all the primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools and Punjabi teachers.

According to the spokesperson, ‘Punjabi Week’ is being celebrated by the education department to promote the Punjabi language. In the meantime online / offline educational competitions are being conducted. According to the spokesperson, poetry recitation competitions had been conducted in all the schools on November 4. Similarly, calligraphy writing and slogan writing competition will be held on 5th November, declamation competition on 6th November and folk song / song and kavishari competition will be held on 7th November.

According to the spokesperson, the heads of all the primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools have been asked to join hands with the teachers to celebrate Punjabi week. The competitions will be in Punjabi language only and these will be conducted by the Punjabi teachers under the guidance of the school head. A student can participate in a maximum of two competitions.
