AACSB has awarded Lancaster University Management School full accreditation for another five years following a successful visit.

Three international peer review team members participated in a virtual visit in November 2022, meeting with staff and students. They took part in 15 meetings, speaking to over fifty members of staff and students, the Dean’s Council, alumni and members of LUMS’ business community.

The successful outcome was formally approved by AACSB this month.

The review report emphasised how committed LUMS’ staff are, and how the School is ‘a great place in which to work.’ It also highlights how valued the careers service is to LUMS students and commends the School for its influence on policy making and its positive impact on the region.

Professor Claire Leitch, Executive Dean of LUMS said: “This re-accreditation is a truly fantastic achievement, and is testament to the collective contributions and hard work of the whole LUMS community.

“Accreditation is so important to us – it’s a benchmark for quality and represents the efforts we put in to ensure our students receive the very best in business education. This means our student community benefit from the very best teaching, learning from world-class researchers and having the first-rate environment they need to allow them to push boundaries and challenge themselves, so they can build rich and rewarding careers.

“It has been fantastic to see the AACSB highlight some of LUMS’ true strengths in our report – from our collegial atmosphere that is so evident as you walk through our School, to our highly motivated staff who are aware of and committed to our important role within the region and who are passionate about making positive change in the world.

“There is always a vast amount of work that goes into preparing for each visit, so I’d like to say a huge thank you to all those who have supplied information, contributed to the report or met with the review team.”
