Concluding program on POSHAN Abhiyaan organised in Jammu

JAMMU : Concluding program on POSHAN Abhiyaan (POSHAN Maah) was today organised by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Jammu, Kailash Devi.

On the occasion, Joint Director Mission POSHAN J&K, D. S Katoch was the chief Guest, Joint Commissioner, JMC, Kulbushan Khajuria was the Guest of Honour, District Program Officer, Jammu, Renu Bhasin was special Guest, Parvinder Kour, Secretary JMC,. R. S Jamwal, CDPO Dansal and Mohit Bharti, CDPO Kot Bhalwal were the special Invitees.

Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers and beneficiaries of POSHAN Project Jammu were also present on the occasion.

A Fancy Dress show on different vegetables and fruit was presented by the enrolled children of POSHAN Project Jammu. Healthy baby show was organised in all AWCs of POSHAN project Jammu and among them 3 were given awards. Reflecting the cultural diversity of India a Kashmiri rouf and a Dogri dance was presented by the Anganwadi Workers and artists of JD musical group. A video on all the activities done during the month of POSHAN Abhiyaan in different AWCs of Jammu was also released. Best performing Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi Helpers were presented certificates of appreciation.

Lecture was delivered by Kulbushan Khajuria, Joint Commissioner JMC. The CDPO Jammu highlighted the importance of Poshan (Nutrition), so that the Nutritional status among beneficiaries of Anganwadi Centres can be improved.

Different nutrition items were also displayed which were prepared in the Anganwadi Centres and recipes on Millets were also displayed by AWWs. Joint Director Mission POSHAN and DPO Jammu also spoke about the ongoing POSHAN Maah and its importance.

A pledge on POSHAN was taken by all. The program ended with a vote of thanks by CDPO Jammu.
