Conference on Interpersonal Communication Challenges on March 28 and 29
Aligarh : A two-day online International Conference on ‘Interpersonal Communication Challenges for Indian Immigrants in Canada (ICIIC)’ of the Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in collaboration with the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute will be held on March 28 and 29.
According to Prof Rashid Nehaal (Conference Director), “This programme will bring together immigrants, academicians, and students to focus on operational realities of interpersonal communication. AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor is the conference patron”.
Dr Ratna Ghosh (Distinguished James McGill and William C Macdonald Professor and Professor of Education, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada) will deliver the keynote address on ‘Possible Interpersonal Communication Challenges for Indian Students in Canada’.
Dr Prachi Kaul (Director, Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, New Delhi) and Prof B Hariharan (VicePresident and President elect of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, NewDelhi) are the Chief Guests for the inaugural and valedictory sessions respectively.
Prof Faizan Mustafa (Vice-Chancellor, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad) and Prof Syed Mohammad Hashim (Dean, Faculty of Arts, AMU) will be the Guests of Honour for the Inaugural Session, while Reshma Rana Verma (Programme Officer Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, New Delhi) is the Guest of Honour for the Valedictory Session.

The conference will feature sessions on Communication Solutions, Global Language Education and Language for Immigrants and Academia among other topics and research papers on Interpersonal Communication and COVID-19, Technology and Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communicative Competence, Gender and Interpersonal Communication, Communication Challenges and Immigration Issues: Canadian Perspective, Curriculum and Assessment Issues, and Interpersonal Discourse Strategies Communication will be presented in sessions chaired by Prof Sami Rafiq, Prof Shagufta Imtiyaz, Prof Ayesha Munira Rasheed, Prof Samina Khan and Prof Shah Alam.
