‘Constitution Day Celebrated’ at GDC Khansahib

BUDGAM : The Department of Political Science at Government Degree College (GDC) Khansahib today organised a programme on the theme “India: The Mother of Democracy.”

Dr. Nargis Bano, Principal of the institution, in her introductory remarks highlighted the imperatives of observing the Constitution Day.

Thereafter, the preamble of the constitution was read-out loudly by Dr. Asiya followed by the faculty and students.

The HOD Political Science, Dr. Sajad Padder, delivered a speech on “Preamble and Indian Democracy”. He highlighted the basic ideals enshrined in the preamble and the policies adopted for realising those democratic ideals.

Three college students namely Insha Hamid, Sheikh Musharaf and Aubid Ahmad Bhat spoke on different dimensions of the constitution.

Aubid was adjudicated as the best speaker and was felicitated by Certificate of Appreciation by the college Principal.

Dr. Bashir Ahmad Gamgeen presented a vote of thanks at the end of the programme.
