Constitution Day celebrations continue in AMU

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) continued Constitution Day celebrations on Thursday with essay writing, debates and quiz competitions at various departments and schools of the University.

Prof Rubi Anjum, Chairperson, Department of Tahaffuzi Wa Samaji Tib (Preventive and Social Medicine), Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College administered the pledge on the Preamble of the Constitution to students and faculty members. She spoke on the fundamental rights and duties enshrined in the Constitution.

Dr Abdul Aziz Khan also spoke on the occasion.

A debate competition on the topic, ‘Importance of Constitution in our Country’ was organised in which postgraduate students, Dr Uzair Ahmad and Dr Sayeed Ahmad stood first and second respectively.

BUMS student, Sadaf Jahan won the quiz competition; while interns, Dr Mumtaz and Dr Misbahul Haque finished second and third respectively.

At the Abdullah School, the occasion was marked with an essay writing competition. Ms Saieda K Zaidi (Assistant Superintendent) addressed students on the importance of the Constitution.
