Cornell University: Ithaca, New York City collaboration launches scientific computing training series
On Nov. 1, Cornell’s Center for Advanced Computing (CAC) and Weill Cornell Medicine Scientific Computing, ITS, and Clinical and Translational Science Center will launch a new Scientific Computing Training Series.
The Zoom-based training will be available for free to all workforce members and students of Cornell, WCM, WCM-Q, and Cornell Tech. Five training topics will be offered in November and December, including R Data Analysis, Jupyter Lab for Python, and Linux for Researchers. Details are available here.
“We’re excited about this intercampus collaboration and grateful for the guidance and support of our NYC colleagues, in particular, the leadership of Dr. Curtis Cole,” said Susan Mehringer, who manages training development and delivery at CAC. Cole is the vice provost of information services and CIO at WCM.
CAC and WCM will continue to collaborate on scientific computing training after the initial Fall launch and more topics will be added in Winter and Spring 2023.
