Covid 19 situation improving in Poonch: DC
Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today said that the Covid Situation is improving in the district with recovery rate touching 88%.
Speaking at the weekly press briefing, he said there are total 607 active covid cases in the district and as per daily testing the positivity rate has dropped to 0.6%.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that with the improvement of 6 percent, the district has recorded 82 percent vaccination of 45 year and above persons.
“A total 17 families have been identified for providing benefits under the Saksham Scheme as they lost their bread earners to COVID-19 Pandemic. He said 20 children have been recommended for scholarship and 18 for pension to the social welfare department. Giving further details, he said a total of 16389 Qlts rice was distributed under Mid Day meal Scheme to the 62518 students of 1472 schools from April 2020 to November 2020.
Similarly 15345.54 Qlts rice, 23458.15 Qlts wheat and 2727.17 Qlts Atta was distributed under NFSA, JKFES, PMJKAY scheme during this period.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the general public, religious leaders, media persons and prominent citizens for their cooperation and urged them to keep supporting the District Administration in its fight against the pandemic.
