Covid Vaccine dry run conducted successfully in Doda District

Doda: As a part of the ongoing nationwide exercise, Covid vaccine dry run was today conducted at three identified sites in District Doda viz Government Medical College Doda, Community Health Centre Bhaderwah and Community Health Centre Gandoh.

At District Headquarter, Deputy Commissioner Dr Sagar D Doifode, along with the Chief Medical Officer, Dr M Y Mir and Medical Superintended AH GMC Doda, Dr Yudhvir Singh visited and monitored the administration of dummy Covid-19 vaccination to the beneficiaries at the selected sites.

At GMC Doda, the vaccination was administered at the sites as designated by the Health department while strictly adhering to operational guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination roll out.

While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Doda said that all protocols pertaining to vaccinations were strictly followed at all the three designated sites of the District., He said that 3 rooms, as per the guidelines, designated for Covid-19 vaccination were set-up which includes the Waiting room, Vaccination room and the Observation room.

Further, the DC informed that a total of 25 dummy beneficiaries selected from Co-WIN platform participated in the mock drive at each pre-identified location, besides 5 trained members of Vaccination Team already uploaded on Co-WIN App were also present with pre-designated roles and responsibilities.

“The objective of the dry run was to assess operational feasibility in the use of COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network (Co-WIN) application in the field environment, to test the linkages between planning and implementation and to identify the challenges and guide the way forward prior to actual implementation”, the DC added.

Besides, special attention was also given to AEFI Management and on disposal of Bio Medical Waste.

Meanwhile, the functioning of Co-WIN App, on which all beneficiaries are going to be uploaded, was demonstrated to the Media persons and other participants.

The CMO Doda Dr Yaqoob Mir informed that in the first phase, around 4000 health care workers including ASHAs and Anganwadi Centres will be given the vaccination dose.

At Gandoh, the drive was conducted under the supervision of District Immunization officer, besides at Bhaderwah Dy CMO presided over the session.
