COVID19: DDC Inspects Red Zones of Bandipora town

Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, Ravinder Kumar on Monday appealed to the people of Bandipora town to cooperate with the medical teams dealing with COVID by presenting themselves for testing for the wellbeing of the society.
He said this during an interaction with the people at Ward-05 and Ward-06 declared as Red zones after detection of positive cases in the area.
Kumar said the people should stay indoors in these areas and voluntarily come forward for testing adding that there are apprehensions that positive cases may have engaged with neighbors and friends and transmitted the virus.
After imposing strict restrictions in the red zones of the town, DC called for its strict implementation to avoid spread of the virus and warned of strict action against the persons violating restriction orders and those who try to skip testing. Later the Deputy Commissioner also visited Bandipora market and directed the officers to ensure the precautionary measures are taken by the shopkeepers including use of masks, availability of sanitizers and keeping a record of customers visiting their shops.
Kumar said advisories have been issued from time to time to the public to use masks and now it appears expedient to reiterate those directions in the interest of health of the general public.
The DC on the occasion was accompanied by District Epidemiologist, Tehsildar Bandipora, President Municipal Committee Bandipora, Dy SP Bandipora, Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Nodal officers of various quarantine centres and other senior officers of the district.
