CPWD sets up Research & Development Cell at IIT Gandhinagar Research Park

Gandhinagar: The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has set up a Research & Development (R&D) Cell at the Research Park of Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) to undertake research and development for projects of interest to CPWD. The R&D Cell of CPWD, aimed at finding efficient solutions to the real problems faced on the field by the construction industry, will work closely with IITGN for the cutting edge research in the housing and urban development sector.

The CPWD R&D Cell is established as a part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities that is aimed at development and verification of new technologies and safer, efficient, long term solutions to the existing problems of the construction industry. IITGN and CPWD will collaborate on various academic, research, training and capacity building programs.

Welcoming one more eminent industry partner at the IITGN Research Park Prof Sudhir K Jain, Director, IITGN, said, “IITGN has always believed in engaging in meaningful research that can create a positive impact on society.
