Creativity, Innovation key for setting up Entrepreneurial Ventures: VC SKUAST-Jammu
2 Month Agripreneurship Training Program under RKVY-RAFTAAR Project concludes at the Varsity
JAMMU : Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu today said that creativity and innovation is the key for capitalizing on business opportunities and gaps in the market. He was speaking as a Chief Guest during the valedictory function of “Two month Agri-Entrepreneurship Training programme” sponsored by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India and organized by Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-Jammu, a Unit of Division of Agricultural Economics and Agri Business Management, SKUAST-Jammu.
Prof. J.P Sharma briefed about the importance of innovation and agripreneurship for upliftment of the agricultural sector as it is the backbone of our economy. He outlined the importance of boosting the start-up ecosystem in the agriculture sector. He advised budding entrepreneurs, young students and farmers to come up with new innovative ideas for processing and value addition of agri-produce, developing competencies in packaging, branding and marketing of agri-business products.
He also congratulated Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, Director P&M, Head Division of AEABM & P.I. Agri Business Incubator, SKUAST-J and her entire team on the successful completion of the training programme.
Dr. Pradeep Wali, Director Research, SKUAST-J also congratulated the incubates on successful completion of their training programme and wished them all the best for their entrepreneurial journey. He appreciated the efforts of Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-Jammu in developing start-ups in agriculture & its allied sectors as it is a big contribution from the University towards realizing the dream of Atmanirbhar Bharat. Earlier Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, welcomed the Chief Guest and all present dignitaries along-with incubates and students to the valedictory function. She gave a brief introduction about the various activities, developments and achievements of Agri-Busines Incubator and highlighted how the incubates developed by the centre are making a name for themselves at the local and national level. She also expressed her gratitude towards the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor for his everlasting support and able guidance.
The incubates also shared their experience regarding the training programme and expressed their satisfaction and gratitude towards the efforts made by the -Administration of the University, PI, Co-PIs and the other staff members of Agri business Incubator for facilitating and guiding them during their training journey.
Statutory officers of the University, Heads of the various divisions, senior faculty members were also present during the occasion. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Anil Bhat, Co-P.I & Asst. Prof. AEABM. Dr. Yamini Raut and Mr. Tarunjeet Singh from A.B.I, SKUAST-J facilitated the arrangements for the event. At the end, a formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. S.P Singh, Co-P.I & Asstt. Prof. AEABM thanked all the present dignitaries for their valuable participation.
