CREDAI Bengaluru and Rotary Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial Upgrades Government Primary School in Halagevaderahalli
Bengaluru: CREDAI Bengaluru in association with Rotary Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial inaugurated the 16th Happy School Project at Government Primary School, Halagevaderahalli, RR Nagar. Happy school is an initiative by CREDAI Bengaluru and Rotary Club where they develop the infrastructure of the government school to provide the best in class facilities to the students. Mr. Sathyanarayanan, President, Rotary Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial, Mr. Kishore Jain, President CREDAI Bengaluru, Mr. Suresh Hari, Chairman, CREDAI Bengaluru & IPDG, Rotary International District 3190 and Mr. Anil Nayak, CEO, CREDAI Karnataka inaugurated the renovated Government Primary School, Halagevaderahalli.
With around 300 students and 15 teachers, the school was facing an acute problem of drinking water. Also, there were no proper toilets for students and teachers. Under the Happy School Project, CREDAI Bengaluru and Rotary Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial provided 1200 litre underground sump to store water and 2000 litre overhead tank which will solve the water shortage problem in the school. Also, 9 toilets have been constructed for the students and staff. The project has also taken the initiative of building 3 wash areas as the school provides midday meal to the students. The drainage system has been developed to avoid waterlogging.
Inaugurating the Government Primary School, Halagevaderahalli, Mr. Sathyanarayanan, President, Rotary Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial said “We are proud to associate with CREDAI Bengaluru to bring happiness among the children through Happy School Project. Lack of basic facilities can create health and hygiene issues among children. Keeping in mind the well-being of these kids Rotary has decided to join hands in this project. We would like to redevelop more schools and get more enrolment of students in government schools”
Talking on the occasion, Mr. Kishore Jain, President, CREDAI Bengaluru said, “We are very happy and proud to be part of this Happy School Project. I would like to thank Rotary members and the school principle along with the staff for all the support and co-operation. We would like to continue such work for the betterment of the society.”
Commenting on the upgradation of the school, Mr. Suresh Hari, Chairman, CREDAI Bengaluru & IPDG, Rotary International District 3190 said, “We are very glad that Happy School Project, the brainchild of CREDAI Bengaluru and Rotary Club is helping students to pursue their dream. Many Government schools in the city today lack basic facilities like water, toilets etc. This has impacted the attendance of the kids. Therefore, to provide them with the best facilities, we have decided to adopt schools in different parts of Bangalore and improve the infrastructure. We are happy that we have completed 16 projects till now. Rotary at its national level is involved in literacy mission and as a national committee member of Happy School of Rotary India Literacy Mission, I am happy to take active role in implementing this project and further the cause of literacy.”
