Cultural & Education Cell DSEJ organises online folk music programme at Kathua

 

KATHUA : The team of Cultural & Education Cell, Kathua of DSEJ organised an online program on folk music of Jammu & Kashmir.

The program was streamed live on Facebook and is available for offline viewing as well.

P.L. Thapa, CEO Kathua graced the programme as Chief Guest, which was moderated by Monika Khosla, District Incharge, Cultural Cell Kathua and technical supervision was provided by Dr. Dushyant along with Manish Kashyap.

ZICCs from Kathua, Barnoti, Billawar, Bhaddu, Hiranagar and Marheen co-ordinated the program under the supervision of Pawan Vivek, DRG Kathua and Anita Pangotra, Cultural Ambassador, District Kathua.

The program was attended by numerous viewers from the education department as well as other sections of the society.

The participants of the program were students from different schools of the district, who presented melodious folk songs in traditional languages. The performances of Shallu, Himanshi, Shivani, Ricky Sharma, Sonu Kumar, Dhruv Kumar were watched and appreciated by the viewers. The participants were well trained & supported by their respective mentors.

P.L. Thapa, CEO Kathua, appreciated the participants & thanked their respective mentors namely Jyoti Sambyal, Shephali Singh, Sudesh Kumar, Shaveta Chambyal, Nidhi Jasrotia and Sonia Hans.

The CEO also emphasized on the role of co-curricular activities as an important part of overall development of students and said that in today’s tumultuous times of stress, disease and restrictions, one needs a tonic of positive entertainment to keep himself balanced and motivated. He also appreciated the staff of Cultural Cell, DSEJ Kathua and urged them along with all stakeholders towards such programs and requested maximum participation of the students.

He also appreciated Khosla in particular for taking initiatives and making such endeavors a success. He also promised his unconditional personal and departmental support for such programs as they also act as a platform for students to showcase their talents as well as a platform to learn about culture and heritage.
