CUPB organized lecture cum open session meet on “Innovators and Entrepreneurs: Growing Beyond Boundaries”
Bathinda : The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari organized a Lectures cum Open Session Meet, centered on the theme “Innovators and Entrepreneurs: Growing Beyond Boundaries”.
The event comprised of two sessions. The first session was chaired by Prof. Anjana Munshi, Dean Research and Coordinator, Incubation and Pre-Incubation Cell, CUPB. In this session Dr. Hemant Rituraj Kushwaha, Additional Director, Atal Innovation Centre and Coordinator, Innovation and Incubation, Jawaharlal Nehru University, deliberated on the significance and need of “The Innovative Mind” in individual or organizational entrepreneurship ventures. He emphasized on inculcating a culture of free-thinking, scientific temperament, and mindfulness among students to promote creativity, ideation and innovation at schools, colleges and Universities. He elaborated on different aspects of innovation from ground zero to in-house jugaads to shape up an innovative product capable of fulfilling customer needs.
The second session on the sub-theme “Entrepreneur in the Making” was chaired by acclaimed environmental scientist, Prof. Vinod Kumar Garg. During this session, a young entrepreneur, Mr. Nitish Vikram Shahi, Founder and Director, Vikram Group of Agro Bios, Biofuels, Organic Homez, shared his journey in the arena of Startups, entrepreneurship, industrial consultancies with the uncertainties, challenges, solutions and success he experienced. Both the lectures were followed with open sessions involving audience as a way to induce curiosity and motivation among the young students and faculties.
The event was coordinated by the Department of Biochemistry, in association with Incubation and Pre-incubation Cell, Research Park Cell, Institution’s Innovation Council and New Gen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell, CUPB. Faculty, research scholars and students from different departments of the university attended this programme.
