CUPB organized Online Orientation Programme to welcome new batch of Post Graduate Students

Bathinda: Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) organized Online Orientation Programme on Monday to welcome the new batch of Post Graduate Students. The objective of this programme is to help the newcomers to know about the details of the University System and its functioning so that they could better use of its facilities. Keeping in mind the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the Orientation Programme was held online which was attended by students from across the country.

At the start of Programme Vice Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari congratulated the new students for getting admission in this prestigious central university on their merit. He added, our students should feel proud to be a part of CUPB, as it has been accredited as “A Grade University” by NAAC and has got “87th Rank” in NIRF 2020 India Rankings. He gave the overview of education, training and research facilities being provided by the university. He shared that, as a part of NEP-2020, CUPB is focusing on implementing student-centric teaching pedagogy where our qualified faculty will act as mentors to students and help them to understand the process of learning and to nurture their talent through experiential learning & blended learning. He emphasized that along with academic activities the university is committed to providing wide learning opportunities through various extra-curricular activities to develop scientific temperament, global competencies, and overall development of students. He asserted that our aim is to produce global intellectual citizens who will be connected with our ancient values, who will focus on finding solutions to problems of society, and who will contribute to the progress our nation.

Prof. R.K. Wusirika, Dean Incharge Academics, ensure that CUPB faculty will provide the best learning experience to our students. He shared details of Academic Activities, University Online Learning Management System, Examination & Evaluation process and encouraged students to get acquainted with facilities offered by various departments.

Prof. V.K. Garg, Dean Student Welfare, presented the details of CUPB Ghudda Campus spread in 500 acres land and shared University Rules & Regulations with students. He stated that CUPB provides equal opportunities to be educated to our students from 29 different states of India regardless of their personal, cultural, language background, and socio-economic statuses. He shared details of the University Library, Computer Centre, Health Centre, Physical Fitness Centre, IT Infrastructure, IPR Cell, Competitive Examination Cell, Hostels. He emphasized that CUPB is a 24*7 learning place where discussion 7 learning continues even beyond the class schedules.

During this Programme Prof. Anjana Mushi, Dean Research, mentioned that CUPB is a research-centric university. She highlighted the University Research Achievements and talked about various Research & Laboratory Facilities.

Shri Kanwal Pal Singh Mundra, CUPB Registrar, mentioned University Administration is committed to providing continuous support to our students. He informed that, even at homes, students can avail various facilities by using our online system. He added, our staff will ensure a comfortable stay of students at the lush green university campus spread in 500 acres once physical classes will start.
