CUPB School of Management organizes a Workshop on Personal Financial Planning

 

Bathinda : Under the patronage of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari, the Department of Financial Administration at the School of Management, Central University of Punjab, organized a workshop on ‘Personal Financial Planning.’ The workshop aimed to provide valuable insights into the significance of financial planning for individuals. The invited speaker for the workshop was Mr. Anu Jindal, Vice President of Bandhan Mutual Funds. The program began with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Anand Thakur, the Dean of the School of Management.

During the workshop, Mr. Anu Jindal highlighted that inflation and changes in lifestyle have led to an increase in family expenditure, from Rs 1 per month in 1920 to Rs 1 lakh per month in 2020. It is expected that the average expenditure of a family in 2040 will range from Rs 5-10 lakh. To further engage the audience, the speaker presented a movie called “One Idiot,” produced by IDFC Bank. The movie revolves around the protagonist’s journey towards understanding the true meaning of money and financial planning.

Mr. Anu Jindal emphasized the importance of savings and wise money management, highlighting how financial independence brings dignity and security to an individual’s life. He also emphasized the role of mutual funds as an effective investment option, as they provide diversification and professional management, thereby increasing the potential for higher returns.

He further stated that managing finances prudently enables individuals to gain control over their lives, make informed decisions, and enjoy a sense of freedom and stability. The workshop imparted deep insights on the real meaning of money, the importance of savings, and the significance of exercising financial discipline.
