CUPB Vice-Chancellor to be the Chief Guest of Nepal’s prestigious Tribhuvan University’s 48th Convocation Ceremony
Bathinda: Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB), has been invited as the Chief Guest in the 48th Convocation Ceremony of Tribhuvan University, Nepal, scheduled on December 9, 2022.
Tribhuvan University (TU), established in 1959, is the first national institution of higher education in Nepal. The Prime Minister of Nepal is the ceremonial chief, the Chancellor of the University, whereas the Minister of Education is the Pro-Chancellor.
CUPB Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari will deliver the convocation address in the august presence of Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba, Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal and Chancellor of TU; Shri Devendra Poudel, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Nepal; and Prof. Dharma Kanta Baskota, Vice-Chancellor, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
This news brought a feeling of joy and pride to the CUPB fraternity. This is the first occasion in the 13 year’s journey of CUPB, the Vice-Chancellor has received an invitation to be the Chief Guest at a convocation ceremony of government university of foreign country.
Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, expressed his gratitude towards Tribhuvan University authorities for inviting him to TU Convocation. He said India and Nepal enjoys excellent bilateral ties. As close neighbors, India and Nepal share a unique relationship of friendship and cooperation characterized by open borders and deep-rooted people–to–people contact of kinship, culture, faith, lifestyle and world view.
The visit to Tribhuvan University, Nepal would provide us an impetus to explore possibilities of collaboration and cooperation for academic enhancement of both CUPB and TU, said Prof. Tiwari.
