Curtain Raiser – TEDxHyderabad hosts first ever virtual edition ‘Resilience’

Hyderabad: TEDxHyderabad is happy to announce the first ever virtual edition of TEDxHyderabad. The theme of the virtual event is ‘Resilience’, exploring ideas and shining the spotlight on leaders that inspire us to remain positive in challenging times. The event will be held virtually on 24th May 2020.

One of the most prestigious events in the city, TEDxHyderabad 2020 will feature nine exemplary speakers from diverse backgrounds such as governance, economy & business, mental health, gender & diversity along with a few outstanding performances. The speakers at this virtual talk will connect and communicate with 1,000 plus participants who will join virtually from all over the globe to share their inspiring stories. All speakers will share their perspectives and personal stories of resilience that helped them overcome the difficulties and become what they are today.

The speakers include Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, Minister of MA&UD, Industries and IT&C, Government of Telangana; Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner Hyderabad; and Sindhoora Yalla, Interaction Designer, among others.

The TEDxHyderabad will be a 3-hour event this year. Each speaker will get 9 minutes to share their story with the audience. There will be a special showcase of a short film on migrant labourers. The whole session will also include 2 performances. The tickets are priced Rs 750 and good Samaritans tickets priced Rs 10,000. The event will be hosted online from 3 pm to 6 pm. The proceeds from the event after expenses will go towards supporting Migrant Labour.

This year we have speakers and attendees from across the globe who will be part of these virtual talks. The event will offer a preview of the new world(post Covid) – which will be largely a the virtual world,” said Viiveck Verma, Curator of TEDxHyderabad.

The whole idea is to inspire people to redefine their personal benchmarks and overcome obstacles in these difficult times,” said Dr. Anthony Vipin Das, TED Senior Fellow and Co-Organizer of TEDxHyderabad.

TEDxHyderabad events have been brought to the city and managed by the members of a not-for-profit society – SAHE (Society for Advancement of Human Endeavour). SAHE is also involved in several community driven projects in the city of Hyderabad. In the past, the team has organized TEDxHyderabadLive – a live streaming of talks as they happen; TEDxHyderabadWomen – an interactive session with live talks from the main TEDWomen event; TEDxHyderabad – a flagship speaker event and TEDxYouth@Hyderabad targeted at a younger teen audience, besides taking up various community projects around environment, education and social causes.
