Curtin University Appoints Leading Educator as Dean of Learning Futures
Curtin University has appointed leadership development expert Professor Darren Bryant as the inaugural Dean of Learning Futures within the Faculty of Humanities.
Professor Bryant has a wealth of expertise in transformative leadership, including seven years as the Head of Department of Education Policy and Leadership at The Education University of Hong Kong and nine years as Associate Director of International Relations and Leadership Research at the Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change.
Bringing three decades of experience across schools and higher education to the pivotal role, Professor Bryant holds a PhD in Policy, Administration and Social Sciences Education, coupled with a Master of Arts in Curriculum Studies.
Curtin’s Faculty of Humanities Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Richard Blythe said he was thrilled to welcome Professor Bryant to the new role.
“We are delighted to appoint an academic of Darren’s calibre and we’re confident his leadership will significantly contribute to shaping the future of education within the University,” Professor Blythe said.
“His passion for innovative education is evident in his instrumental role in designing and implementing undergraduate and higher degree programs and we eagerly anticipate the invaluable contributions he will make as the Dean of Learning Futures.”
With a career-long passion for empowering educators through leadership, Professor Bryant said he was looking forward to pursuing effective ways to make a difference in educational and organisational outcomes.
“As the newly appointed Dean of Learning Futures, I am honoured and excited to facilitate collaborative initiatives that foster innovation and excellence, paving the way for new educational possibilities for current and future generations,” Professor Bryant said.
