Cyber Jagroota Divas at AMU
Aligarh: Women students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were given tips on the security of sensitive data and its protection from theft or attacks in the awareness programme on ‘Concept and use of Cyber Hygiene in Daily Life’ held at the Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning, Women’s College to observe the Cyber Jagroota Divas on December 7, Wednesday.
“The Cyber Jagroota Divas is observed on the first Wednesday of every month to create awareness on Cyber Crime in which IT experts train female students to maintain online privacy and security for protecting their personal information like passwords and bank details. This programme also helps the female students to not fall victims to online harassment, stalking and other threats”, said Prof Naima Khatoon (Director, Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning and Principal, Women’s College).
The resource persons shared how to file online crimes complaints on the Government of India portal, www.cybercrime.gov.in and spoke on internet ethics, internet addiction, ATM Scams, online shopping frauds, fake lottery emails and SMSs, fraudulent loan deals, cyber attacks, debit card and credit card scams, email and data safety and mobile phone security.
