Dana Majhi’s daughter has cleared the matriculation examinations
Bhubaneswar: Dana Majhi’s daughter has cleared the matriculation examinations, the results of w hich were declared on Friday. She was studying at the KISS here, which achieved a cent-per-cent result.
As many as 629 students passed the exam, securing more than 70 percent of total marks. In contrast to the 97.89 percent of results achieved by the students Statewide, KISS has achieved a cent percent result. As many as 1,900 students had appeared in the exam.
Mohan Charan Raita of Saura tribe of Gajapati district has emerged as the topper of KISS in securing 540 marks in aggregate.
Remarkably, Chandini Majhi, daughter of the much-talked-about Dana Majhi, achieved success in this exam.
In fact, Dana Majhi, of Melaghar village under Thuamul-Rampur block of Kalahandi district had made the news headlines in 2016, when he walked for a distance of 10 km carrying the body of his deceased wife on shoulder.
Following the incident, Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT & KISS, had extended his helping hand in facilitating her and two of her sisters pursue their study in KISS. Hearing the success of Chandini, the joy of the primitive tribal people of her nativity knows no bounds. They have conveyed their gratitude to Dr Samanta.
On the result of KISS, Dr Samanta said it has been possible due to earnest efforts of the faculties, and staff of KISS as well as the sheer diligence and dedication of the students.
