Dawakhana Tibbiya College Hosts “Entrepreneurship Sensitising Workshop”

 

Aligarh : In celebration of World Entrepreneurship Day, Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised the “Entrepreneurship Sensitising Workshop” on August 21, at the Conference Hall of the Administrative Block. This event marked the second consecutive workshop aimed at helping young minds identify and develop the traits necessary to become successful entrepreneurs.

The workshop’s Chief Patron was AMU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon, and the Guest of Honour, was Mr. Mohammad Imran, Registrar of AMU and Occupier at DTC. The Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Taab A. Siddiqi, Co-Founder of Harvest Gold Industries and an alumnus of the Department of Business Administration.

In her inaugural address, Mrs. Taab A Siddiqi praised the DTC team for organising the workshop. She shared insights from her entrepreneurial journey, highlighting the challenges and triumphs that led Harvest Gold. Mrs. Siddiqi emphasised the importance of identifying market needs and honing digital marketing skills, urging the incorporation of Social Media Marketing into the Management Education curriculum.

The workshop featured a keynote session by Prof. S. K. Jain, Adjunct Professor at IIT Delhi, who discussed India’s rich history of entrepreneurship and its global impact. Prof. Jain elaborated on the essential traits of a successful entrepreneur and the conditions conducive to entrepreneurial success. He emphasised the need for such workshops in today’s educational environment.

Prof. Salma Ahmed, Member In-Charge of DTC and current Chairperson, Department of Business Administration, formally welcomed the guests and participants. She remarked on the significance of World Entrepreneurship Day as a moment to honour the dedication, resilience, and success of entrepreneurs worldwide.

The workshop saw active participation from over 78 students across various faculties, including Engineering and Technology, Management, Commerce, Arts, Social Sciences, and Unani Medicine. The event was attended by university officials and dignitaries and several others from various departments and faculties.

The ceremony was conducted by Sania Khan, a Research Scholar and workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Tooba Fatma Bilgrami, a Research Scholar at the department.

This workshop shows DTC’s commitment to encouraging entrepreneurship in students and helping them get ready to handle the challenges and opportunities in the changing business world.
