Daylong workshop on grievance redressal mechanism held in Bandipora

 

BANDIPORA : The District Administration Bandipora on Monday organised a day long workshop for officers and members of Panchayat Raj institutions regarding Good Governance, feedback and grievance redressal mechanism in wake of the “Good Governance week” as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme.

The workshop was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Ali Afsar Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC stressed on streamlining the grievance redressal mechanism and urged the officers to redress the grievances of the people in a time bound manner. He also urged the PRI members to act as a bridge between the government and the people by providing timely feedback and effectively representing the people to redress their grievances.

He said the “Good Governance week” will help in highlighting citizen centric governance and improving service delivery. He said the weeklong celebrations will also provide an opportunity to redress public grievances and improve service delivery mechanisms so that people are benefited at grass roots level.

He stressed on officers to organize special camps/events at Tehsil Headquarters/Panchayat levels to sensitize people about different Government welfare schemes besides uploading and sharing the progress and achievements.

The ADDC asked the officers to adopt Good Governance practices while redressing the public grievances and in the public delivering system so that common people do not face any inconvenience for want of basic amenities or while availing benefits of government sponsored welfare schemes.

A special training programme was held for PRI members regarding online grievance redressal besides providing them information about various welfare schemes.

Earlier, a detailed PowerPoint presentation was also displayed about various government sponsored welfare schemes besides initiates.

On the occasion students also spoke on the range of issues regarding good governance who were later felicitated by the officers.

Later the audience attended the inaugural session of the Good Governance Week through video conferencing.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Parvaiz Rahim, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats Altaf Hussain Mosvi, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad and other senior officers of the district were present on the occasion.
