DBA, Aligarh Muslim University commenced a one-week “Winter School on Research Methods”

Aligarh : The Department of Business Administration (DBA), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) commenced a one-week “Winter School on Research Methods” at Frank and Debbie Islam Management Complex with several faculty members and research scholars from Management, Social Sciences, Commerce and allied disciplines attending the workshop.

Addressing the inaugural session, Prof Parvaiz Talib, Chairman, DBA, acknowledged the efforts of the faculty members in providing a platform for research related methods and newer understandings. He emphasised the need for such programmes where researchers could imbibe essentials for conducting data analysis and interpretation.

Prof Valeed Ahmad Ansari, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research, emphasised the importance of research methodology and design aspects and the choice of appropriate research tools and techniques.

Prof Bilal Mustafa Khan, Convener of the Winter School, while arguing against the idea of ‘formula based research’, urged the scholars to employ better statistical tools and techniques for preparing an objective research design. He urged the participants to prepare a road map before commencing their research work.

He said that the primary objective of the Winter School is to offer an opportunity to academicians and researchers to learn Hypothesis Development and Testing, Times Series Analysis and Panel Regression, Multivariate Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling procedure.

Prof Jamal Ahmed Farooquie engaged the participants during the session on Hypothesis Development and Testing.

The winter school is attended by 60 participants.
