DC Bandipora reviews activation of covid related services at DH
Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad on Monday visited District Hospital Bandipora to review the activation of healthcare services to combat the 2nd wave of covid19 pandemic.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the work going on for the installation of 1000 LPM capacity high flow oxygen in the hospital and also took stock of the arrangements being put in place for dedicated covid wards, isolation and treatment of Covid patients there.
Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Bashir Ahmad, Block Medical Officer Masarat Iqbal, Medical Superintendent Bashir Ahmad and other senior officers of the district were present on the occasion.
The officers on the occasion informed the Deputy Commissioner that the 1000 LPM capacity High Flow Oxygen Plant shall be made functional within three days that will cater to 100 beds of the hospital including 25 dedicated covid-19 beds of the DH Bandipora.
Officers informed that making the plant functional will ease the burden on city hospitals as the DH will be able to cater to the patients who need high flow oxygen and were earlier being referred to Srinagar. It was given out that bulk oxygen cylinders are also available to cater other covid dedicated hospitals of the district.
Later the Deputy Commissioner also inspected different units of the hospital and took stock of the health care services available at the hospital. He also inspected the dedicated covid19 ward. He was informed that 25 beds have been specially kept for covid19 patients in the hospital that will increase the bed capacity for COVID patients in the district besides having 6 ventilators installed at the hospital.
DC Bandipora directed for ensuring proper healthcare to patients and safety to frontline health workers besides hygiene and cleanliness in the hospital.
He said the administration is taking adequate proactive steps for augmenting and keeping the medical infrastructure in ready gear to meet out any eventuality.
