DC Baramulla reviews implementation of schemes for Care and Protection of Children Affected by COVID-19
Baramulla: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting of District Task Force at Dak Bungalow here to review the implementation of various schemes and programmes announced for the care and protection of children affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting also took special review of SAKSHAM welfare scheme which envisages Rs 20,000 per annum to such students up to 12th class and Rs 40,000 for graduate, PG and Other Professional Courses.
A comprehensive discussion on the subject was held wherein the DC directed the concerned officers to submit the list of identified beneficiaries within next 02 days. He also emphasized upon the committee members to work in coordination and cooperation for achieving the desired results in a time bound manner.
Meanwhile, District Child Protection Officer Showkat Ahmad informed the meeting about various related aspects associated with the District Task Force. He added that the district task force is mandated to identify the children who were severely affected due to the death of their guardians by the pandemic adding that a fixed stipend for the affected children shall be provided for a limited time period.
Meeting was attended by the committee members comprising ASP Baramulla, ACR Baramulla, District Social Welfare Officer, District Child Protection Officer and Chairperson of Child Welfare Committee among other concerned functionaries.
