DC Baramulla reviews progress of Works under ADP, BADP, SSY & Others

Achieve 100% Saturation of Developmental Works by 15th November: Dr Sehrish to Officers

BARAMULLA : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today directed concerned officers to ensure completion of all on-going works under Border Area Development Plan (BADP) by November 15, 2022 and reiterated that no laxity shall be accepted in this regard.

The DDC also reviewed progress of developmental works in aspirational blocks of the district and discussed formulation of Smridhi Seema Yojana Action Plan 2022-23.

During the meeting, it was informed that under the Border Area Development Plan (Central share) Rs. 818.64 lacs were released to different departments like Irrigation and Flood Control, PHE, R&B, Health etc. It was also given out that 74 works under BADP have been taken up with an estimated cost of Rs. 26 Crores out of which 824.85 lacs were released.

Similarly, the meeting also informed that under Samridhi Seema Yojna 20 works have been taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 8.47 lacs out of which 2 works stand completed.

It added that 3 works have been taken up under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.25 Crore.

After taking a comprehensive review of all the sectors, the DDC directed officers of line departments to achieve 100 percent saturation of the projects assigned to them.

During the meeting, major thrust was laid on creation of community infrastructure to benefit the maximum population of the border areas.

While reviewing the block wise progress of the district under ADP, the DDC directed for achieving 100% Saturation in blocks where they lack some indicators under Aspirational District Programme which include education, basic infrastructure, agriculture more especially in health and nutrition where more focus is needed to achieve the targets.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Yousuf Rather; Chief Education Officer Baramulla, G.M. Lone; Engineers from Executive Agencies, besides other concerned Officers.
