DC Budgam sanctions 5848 new cases under Ladli Beti Scheme

Budgam: As part of socio-economic inclusion drive, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today sanctioned 5848 new cases under Ladli Beti Scheme.
With the sanctioning of these fresh cases, now the total cases in Budgam stand at 16502.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the scheme aims at overall socio- economic development of girl child and would go a long way in their economic empowerment.
He further said that the remarkable social security scheme is aimed at creating a strong positive temperament towards girl child, besides it addresses the concerns of girls, right from birth to adulthood by providing financial security to them.
Under this scheme, the government contributes Rs 1,000 per month towards the birth of girl child subject to some criteria to be filled by applicants.
The DC emphasized that the district administration in collaboration with Programme Officer ICDS shall put all concerted efforts to achieve the desired objective of securing the future of the girl child.
He said that Ladli Beti is a path-breaking welfare scheme and the deserving people must take full advantage of this social welfare scheme.
