DC Budgam visits Chrar-i-Sharief, takes stock of progress of Vaccination drive
Budgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today visited Chrar-i-Sharief to take stock of vaccination drives under both designated age groups of above 45 years and 18 to 44 years.
During the visit, the DC also took firsthand appraisal of requirements, availability of stocks related to basic needs particularly in the far flung areas of Tehsil Chrar-i-Sharief.
The DC later convened a public interaction session in the lawns of Government Degree College Chrar-i-Sharief. The interaction session witnessed participation of a large number of locals as well as deputations from surrounding areas.
During interaction, the DC patiently listened to all the issues, grievances and demands put forth by the deputations, individuals. The issues raised included improvement of roads by macadamization, installation of mobile towers at tourist resort Yousmarg, completion of all requisite works of Ziyarat Shareef as well as Khanqah besides beautification of lawns and premises as well as surroundings of these auspicious sites.
Besides, the demand for conducting surveys of all orchards whose crops got damaged due to hailstorm and other weather related issues through concerned authorities was also raised to ascertain the total losses.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC assured the deputations, individuals who put forth and highlighted the issues that all their genuine demands and grievances shall seriously be taken note of.
He further added that since the onset of the 2nd wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the administration with its all machinery had to negotiate important and unavoidable engagements and emergencies in order to contain the spread. Everyone of us is fully aware that Covid-19 is a serious and urgent issue to tackle, now that the situation has improved and developmental and other activities shall be resumed with full pace through concerned departments/ agencies, he added.
Regarding the issue of survey of orchards, the DC reiterated that horticulture sector as we all know is back bone in providing financial support to huge chunk of population, he assured the farmers that concerned authorities shall carry out the survey of losses very soon and the report will be submitted to the government for further necessary action.
Later the DC visited SDH Chrar-i-Sharief to take stock of facilities and other necessities required for better medicare facilities to be provided to the indoor and OPD patients.
On the occasion, the DC was briefed by the BMO Chrar-i-Sharief that since the improvement in the Covid-19 situation, the Hospital is routinely taking care of a huge rush of OPD patients. Daily referrals have gradually gone down. Side by side the hospital is attending all other Covid-19 requirements as and when required.
The DC during the visit was accompanied SDM Chadoora, Chief Medical Officer, ACD and other concerned officers.
