DC discusses traffic de congestion measures for Doda town

Doda: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vikas Sharma, today chaired the preliminary meeting of concerned officers to discuss the traffic de-congestion measures for Doda town.

The DC held threadbare discussion on various aspects of the traffic congestion in the Township, especially in and around the Bus stand.

A string of decongestion measures, including widening of chowks and roads wherever possible, identification of Auto stands, creation of parking areas and alternate roads to reach various destination were discussed in the meeting.

The DC directed all the concerned officers to come up with viable plan within shortest possible time for its execution on the ground.

The DC directed Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) to formulate a detailed proposal of how and where road and chowks can be widened, alternate routes to de-congest the traffic and identification of the space for parking.

ARTO along with EO Municipal Council Doda and Tehsildar Doda were directed to identify feasible space for parking of Trucks, load carriers autos, buses and mini-buses in and around the town.

The DC said that a viable de-congestion plan will be finalized in a shortest possible time after consulting all stakeholders. He directed the concerned to make concerted efforts to improve and streamline the traffic scenario in the city. He asked for maintaining close inter-departmental cooperation to achieve this objective.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, SP HQ, Chief Planning Officer, President Municipal Council, ARTO, DIO Doda, Xen PWD, SHO besides other concerned Officers and Officials.
