DC Ganderbal chairs meeting with religious clerics of the district
Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today chaired a meeting with the religious clerics of the district to discuss the precautionary measures to be taken during forthcoming holy month of Ramadan to break the chain of Covid-19 infection transmission.
During the meeting, the DC urged the religious clerics of the district to become administrations messengers and sensitize the general public about the importance of social distancing and other precautions to contain Covid infection.
She asked them to motivate people over the age of 45 years to go for Covid vaccination for their own safety and the safety of family members as well as adherence of covid protocols in mosques during prayers.
While briefing the clerics about the measures to be taken during prayers in the month of Ramzan, the DC said though the district administration has taken all strict measures to break the chain of its transmission but it is responsibility of the people to cooperate with the district administration by way of adhering to the related advisories.
While interacting with the religious clerics she explained that following covid SOPs, like maintaining social distancing, frequent hand washing and wearing face masks helps break the chain of transmission which is critical to containing its spread and urged one and all to practice all precautions related to Covid-19.
Among others the meeting was also attended by ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ACR, CMO and others concerned.
