DC Kishtwar discusses implementation of Forests Rights Act 2006
Kishtwar: District development Commissioner, Ashok Sharma today nominated District level and sub Divisional level committees for the implementation of FRA 2006 here at a meeting of the DDC members and BDC chairpersons.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishore Singh Katoch; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Amir Hussain besides other district and sectoral officers remained present.
Besides nominating Sub divisional and district level committees the meeting was also apprised about the rules including the preamble, the forest dwelling communities, the constitution and functions of the 3-tier system of committees at the district, sub divisional and gram Panchayat level and the procedure to be followed for inviting, acknowledging and processing the claims under the Act.
The meeting decided that special training cum awareness programmes for the members of the Forest Right Committees and resource persons of the Revenue, RDD and Forest Department shall be organised for effective implementation of the Forest Right Act in the district.
Meanwhile, DDC/BDC members also put forth the developmental aspiration of their respective jurisdiction.
Deliberation on the PMGSY plans was also held wherein recommendations on the construction of the Malhar Road, Hatna road, Shana Manthala road, and road connectivity to Kuntwara areas were made.
The DC directed the concerned XEns to remove the obstructions and expedite the works on these roads for timely completion.
On the issue of bottlenecks in registration process of PMJAY SEHAT scheme, the DC assured the PRIs that registration process will be taken up on mission mode basis and special camps will be conducted at various places.
