DC Kishtwar flags off exposure visit of farmers to Bhaderwah

Kishtwar: A group of 35 local farmers including 12 women farmers was today flagged off for one day exposure to Bhaderwah to learn about the latest agricultural techniques.

Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma flagged off the farmers here from Dak Banglow Kishtwar in presence of Chief Agriculture Officer, S.K Bhagat, District Saffron Development Officer, Amjad Hussain Malik besides other officers of Agriculture department .

The group of farmers hailing from different parts of district Kishtwar was accompanied by District Saffron Development Officer.

The one day exposure visit is aimed to enhance their knowledge and skills about soil health management for sustainable hill agriculture, besides to impart education and awareness regarding various beneficiary oriented schemes.

During this one day exposure tour, the farmers will visit to spices, pickles, jam and jelly processing units in Bhaderwah to get acquainted with the process of value added products.

They will also visit the Strawberry farms, Mashroom units, Apiculture centres, vegetables farms and crop field at Bhaderwah, informed CAO Kishtwar.
