DC Kishtwar holds introductory meeting with officers of line Departments

Discusses key areas of Development; promotion of Nasha Mukt J&K campaign; GI Tagging of Saffron; progress of developmental projects, tourism sector development in convergence mode; execution of critical infrastructure; telecom connectivity in remote areas

KISHTWAR : After assuming the charge as Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav today chaired a marathon of meeting with the District and sectoral officers here in the conference Hall DC office complex Kishtwar and took a detailed review of the achievements made on the developmental front and the implementation of different schemes in the district.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Sham Lal; ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACP Zakir Hussain Wani; SDM Chatroo, Inderjeet Parihar; SDM Marwah, Dr Mohsin Raza; SDM Paddar, Dr Rishi Sharma; ACD Kishtwar Atul Dutt Sharma; DPO Sunil Bhutyal besides other District and sectoral officers of key departments.

At the outset, the District and sectoral Officers gave their introduction to the Deputy Commissioner and greeted him for his new assignment.

The JD-planning gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on the physical and financial status of ongoing mega projects of Health, Education, PMDP, MGNREGA, PMGSY, PWD, PDD, PHE Agriculture, Horticulture etc in the District.

The DC, while taking sector wise review, stressed on to focus on the core areas of development and asked the officers to work in synergy to improve their performances.

He stressed on timeline completion of the developmental projects, particularly in the far flung areas/snow bound areas in view of the short working season.

Further, he stressed on the district and sectoral officers to make concrete and coordinated efforts to achieve Nasha Mukt District by generating mass awareness about the drug menace.

Reviewing the agriculture sector, he asked the concerned officers to get GI Tagging of Kishtwar Saffron along with Kashmir Saffron and facilitate market linkage to the farmers to sell and market their products on different digital platforms.

Stressing on timely completion of iconic projects and Languishing works, he stressed upon the concerned Executing agencies to mobilise resources on the work site besides to ensure cent percent utilisation of funds.

To achieve tangible results in the health and education sectors, he enjoined upon the concerned officers to start usage of existing infrastructure created in the form of schools & health buildings to facilitate better healthcare and education services.

“This district has a huge potential for tourism which needs to be tapped through an integrated model in convergence with handloom, handicraft schemes, Mission Youth, FPO Cooperatives and SRLM livelihood mission” he maintained.

He further stressed for development of Critical infrastructure projects like road connectivity and strengthening of telecom connectivity in the remote areas like Marwah, Dacchan etc. so that balanced, equitable and sustainable development is achieved in the District without any delay.

Earlier, DC Kishtwar conducted a surprise inspection of all the sections of his office and enquired about the functioning of these sections and asked all to work with utmost dedication for the deliverance of public services efficiently.
