DC Kishtwar reviews implementation of District Environment Plan

 

KISHTWAR : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today chaired a meeting of the members of District Environment Committee (DEC) and reviewed the progress of implementation of District Environment Plan (DEP) in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal Sharma; General Manager, District Industries Centre, Khalid Hussain Malik; Divisional Forest Officer, Marwah Vijay Kumar; Assistant Commissioner (R) Akhter Hussain Qazi; Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Zakir Hussain; EO Municipal Council Kishtwar Tariq Hussain Balwan, District Officer Pollution Control Committee, Mukesh Kumar Bali besides other concerned.

The meeting discussed the action taken or to be taken by the executing agencies for environmental conservation and improving parameters in the district as envisaged in the District Environment Plan.

The reviewed areas of action of departments, clarification of observations raised by department of Forest, Ecology and Environment regarding revision of the DEP, preparation of revised action plan for restoration of water bodies, restoration/creation of ponds/water bodies, enforcement and monitoring guidelines for sand mining, implementation of action Plan for enforcement of E-waste/Solid waste/Biomedical waste / Industrial waste management rules besides Air quality and water quality management plan.

The DC informed the meeting that the site for the solid waste management has been identified and the case file submitted for transfer of the state land.

The EO Municipal Council was directed to ensure the sanitation and cleanliness of the town.

The District Pollution Control Committee was asked to identify the points and install the pollution monitoring instruments/Devices in and outskirts of the Kishtwar town to monitor the level of pollutants.
