DC Kishtwar reviews progress on mega projects

Kishtwar: The progress on the execution of various mega projects under PMDP, MGNREGA, B2V and District Capex was today reviewed by Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Ashok Sharmahere at a meeting of the District heads of the department.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Mohd Hanief Malik; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; SDM Chhatroo, Inderjeet Singh Parihar; ACD, Kishore Singh Katoch; DFO, Marwah, Vijay Kumar, DFO, Kishtwar, Sagar Singh; ALC, Anoop Kumar; DSWO, Tariq Parveaz Qazi; CEO, Ashok Kumar; CMO, Dr R S Manhas, besides other district and sectoral officers.

The DC Kishtwar took detailed review of the progress made on the mega developmental projects and passed a slew of directions to the concerned implementing agencies for timely completion. He also set deadlines for the completion of different projects.

While reviewing the progress of work on under execution PMGSY and PWD roads in the district, he directed the XEns to expedite the pace of work for their stipulated completion.

DFO Marwah and DFO Kishtwar were asked to work in coordination with the executing agencies so that forest clearance on the ambitious Marwah -Dachhan road is granted in speedy manner.

On the issue of the pending land compensation the DC Kishtwar informed the meeting that Rs 238 crore has been projected to the higher ups and the liabilities shall be cleared as and when the funds are released.

He further directed the executing agencies to mobilise the men and machinery particularly in backward areas, where work has been held up due to bad weather for timely completion of the roads.

The work-wise progress of the projects under the PMDM were also reviewed in the meeting, which includes the ongoing 100 bedded additional hospital building at DH Kishtwar, multipurpose indoor stadium at GHSS Kishtwar, construction of GDC building at Chatroo, construction of Nursing college Kishtwar and SDH Atholi, electrification work in the left out habitations in the district, KGBV at Marwah ,Warwan etc.

The DC Kishtwar also reviewed the achievements made in the implementation of the beneficiary oriented schemes and social security schemes being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Labour.

To ensure smooth functioning of the government departments particularly in the far flung areas, the chair directed the district officers to ensure punctuality of staff and camp their offices in the far flung areas of Marwah and Warwan to provide services to the people at their doorsteps.

Reviewing the functioning of the Rural Development Department, the ACD Kishtwar was asked to expedite the process of verification of vendors, and job cards on mission mode basis in order to bring the transparency.

Besides, he also stressed on the concerned BDOs to complete the target under PMAY (grameen) and directed XEN REW Kishtwar to complete the process of tendering under B2V3 to take up mandated Rs 10 lakh development works in each Panchayat within a week of time.
