DC Kishtwar reviews progress on PMGSY, PWD roads
Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma, today took stock of physical and financial status of the roads undertaken by the PMGSY and PWD in a meeting of the concerned officers, here at Conference Hall of New DC Office Complex.
During the meeting, the DC took detailed review of the performance of roads in Kishtwar, Chhatroo and Marwah Sub-divisions and passed a slew of directions.
Earlier, Executive Engineers of different divisions of PMGSY and PWD briefed the chair that the works in all sub-divisions have been restarted after the return of favourable weather conditions.
The DC Kishtwar directed Executive Engineers to expedite the pace of work to ensure the completion of the roads in a time bound manner, without compromising the quality of the construction material.
On the issues of the slow pace of work of Padyarna to Pullar road and several others roads, he exhorted upon Executive Engineer PWD Sub Divison Kishtwar to take strict action against the concerned contractor, besides take concrete measures to ensure that the roads are completed in stipulated time frame.
During the meeting, the contractors apprised the DC about various problems faced by them. They informed that due to the unavailability of construction material the pace of the work is getting hampered.
Besides, they also apprised him of various Departmental bottlenecks faced by them which also create hurdles in the completion of the projects.
The DC assured them that the problem of availability of sand and gravels will be resolved soon in coordination with Geology and Mining Department.
He also issued necessary direction to the concerned authorities for the early settlement of other disputes.
Furthermore, Executive Engineers were directed to coordinate and conduct the joint verification wherever pending.
