DC Kulgam reviews implementation of ‘UMEED’ scheme
Kulgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat today convened a meeting here to take a detailed stock of implementation of ‘Umeed’ scheme under J&K State Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKSRLM).
At the outset of the meeting, DPM NRLM gave a detailed overview about the functioning of the scheme in the district. He informed that in District Kulgam, 2544 SHGs (Self Help Groups), 215 Village Organizations and 22 CLFs have been formed so far.
He said the 1835 SHGs have received Revolving Fund, 1386 have received the Community Investment Fund, 661 have received 1st Dose , 101 have received the 2nd Dose and 03 have received the 3rd dose of Bank Linkage.
While addressing the meeting, the DC said that Umeed project is aimed at providing better livelihoods to the women especially living in rural areas.
He stressed to focus on convergence with line departments for availing the benefits from all the existing government schemes.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, ACR, District Programme Manager NRLM, Block programme Managers NRLM and other officers.
