DC Kupwara chairs DLTFC for Mission Youth

Approves 223 cases under MUMKIN, TEJASWINI schemes

 

KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today chaired a meeting of District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) for Mission Youth scheme to discuss implementation of various Mission Youth schemes in the district.

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues for successful implementation of various schemes envisaged for providing gainful self-employment avenues to the unemployed educated youth under different categories.

Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed upon all stakeholders to redouble their efforts for timely disposal of the cases as the Mission Youth is directly linked with the future of the youth. He urged the concerned officers to honestly dispose-off the cases of those highly qualified persons who apply for exemption of any condition so that they can get benefitted from the schemes.

He said the objective to put up the cases in the district level task force is to redress the issues which cannot be sorted out at the portal.

The DCurged the unemployed youth of Kupwara district to register themselves on the website www.jakemp.nic.in for their benefit.

Earlier, the meeting was briefed by the concerned officers about the progress of the self-employment cases of respective departments. After the threadbare discussion, the committee gave nod to 152 cases for further course of action under the MUMKIN scheme, subject to the fulfillment of formalities.

It was informed that under this scheme the beneficiaries can get commercial vehicles (Chotay Piaggio) on 20 percent subsidy. The subsidy amount of 10 percent of on road price of vehicle shall be provided by Mission Youth and the same 10 percent shall be provided by the manufacturing agency one time. Rest of the amount shall be provided in the form of a bank loan.

The meeting also informed that under TEJASWINI, 71 new cases have been put up. The Career Counselling Officer Kupwara informed the meeting that the guidelines given by chairman (Deputy Commissioner) in previous meeting have been implemented in letter and spirit and the counseling for change of unit as per the feasibility of the area have worked out and out of 19 cases, 8 have changed their nomenclature of establishing of business unit from traditional Kiryana to other types.

The meeting also informed that under SPUR Entrepreneurship, there is a target of 150 cases to be settled during the year. While as, 189 candidates have applied under the scheme. The Taskforce has approved the formulation of a sub-committee for interview and presentation from applicants.

The meeting also discussed the capturing of data of unemployed youth from the district as per the instructions of Chief Secretary J&K.

The ACD Kupwara and Executive Officer Municipalities have been asked to collect data from panchayats and wards respectively.
