DC Kupwara inspects ongoing vaccination process, takes stock of fire incident of Sabzi Mandi Handwara
Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today inspected various Vaccination Centres including PHC Gushi, NTPHC Nagri, Health & Wellness Centre Drugmulla and Sub-Centre Hatmulla. He also checked the attendance of the staff in these health centres. and Panchayat Covid Care Centre of block Kupwara and took stock of the ongoing vaccination process. He was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone and Block Medical Officer Kupwara, Dr. Zaffar.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged upon the concerned to ensure completion of the target of the Covid vaccination within the stipulated time frame. He directed them to speed up the door to door vaccination drive for maximum coverage of the people.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the combined Covid Care Centre of Drugmulla-A and Drugmulla-B panchayats which was recently established to cater the needs of the patients with mild symptoms. He directed the concerned to ensure round the clock functioning of the Covid Care Centre so that the local patients do not face any difficulty while isolating themselves.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara visited Handwara and took stock of the damage caused in Sabzi Market Handwara due to a fire incident last night. He was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara, Sandeep Gupta; Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; Tehsildar Handwara and other concerned officers.
While inspecting the fire spot and interacting with the victims, the Deputy Commissioner said that since the establishments damaged are purely commercial in nature, therefore does not qualify for compensation under State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF). He further said that keeping in view the economic status of the fire victims, necessary relief shall be provided to them from SDRF.
