DC Kupwara reviews functioning of Health department
Directs officers to make extra efforts to strengthen health institutions
KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today convened a meeting of all Medical Officers to review the overall functioning of the Health Department in Kupwara district.
Addressing the meeting, the DC stressed upon all the officers to work with utmost dedication and honesty adding that the people have direct concern with the health facilities being the most sensitive sector.
He asked the Medical Officers to take extra efforts to strengthen the health institutions they are heading and directed them to ensure smooth functioning of all men and machinery available in their hospitals.
On the occasion, the DC took a detailed work wise review of all health parameters including Institutional deliveries, Maternal Health, Immunization, RBSK programme, Anemia Mukt Bharat, Ayushman Bharat, National TB Elimination Programme, Mental Health Programme, IEC activities under District Mental Health, Drug De-addiction, Registration of Clinical Establishments, PMJAY Sehat scheme and Kayakalp programme.
Reviewing institutional deliveries, the DC was informed that 4791 institutional deliveries have been registered in health institutions of the district till ending October this year. He directed the concerned medical officers to evolve proper mechanisms in place to reduce the referral rate so that patients do not face any inconvenience.
Reviewing the RBSK programme, the DC directed the concerned to activate the RBSK teams in medical blocks for proper screening of different ailments among the children for their timely treatment.
He directed the CMO to take a separate review of the RBSK programme at his own level and closely monitor the activities of the RBSK teams.
Reviewing the PMJAY Sehat scheme, the DC was informed that 456919 Golden cards constituting 71% of the target have been issued to the beneficiaries so far in the district.
The DC directed the concerned to speed up the process and ensure cent percent achievement of the target. He also asked the Medical Officers to identify the unemployed youth who are interested to establish their self employment units in medical allied fields like diagnostic labs so that they can be sponsored under the ambitious PMEGP scheme.
Earlier, the CMO Kupwara gave a detailed powerpoint presentation and highlighted the targets and achievements under various parameters of the health department in the district.
