DC Kupwara reviews indicators under National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of District Tuberculosis Forum to review the progress of various indicators under National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) in the district.

On the occasion, it was informed that there are two Culture Machines CBNAAT and TRUENAT available in the district one at SDH Kupwara and another at DH Handwara for diagnosing of TB patients. It was also informed that the district has applied for Sub elimination of TB certification for the year 2021 and the District Tuberculosis Centre Kupwara has been performing bidirectional Covid-TB screening.

The DC directed the concerned officers to gear up the efforts for complete elimination of TB disease from the district.

Among others, District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Mohammed Ramzan Wani; District Nodal Officer AYUSH, Dr. Shabir Ahmad; District Programme Coordinator and NTEP staff members attended the meeting.
