DC Poonch reviews working of PDD, PHE departments
Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch chaired a meeting to review the working of PDD and PHE/Jal SHAKTI Departments and sought restoration of disrupted power, drinking water supply in 48 hours.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the executive engineer PDD to put the curtailment schedule, in case of scheduled cuts, in public domain both area wise and feeder wise well before time so that public may know the timing of power cuts.
He also directed the department to share reports of power supply breakdown on social media as soon as it occurs and inform the public about possible restoration time.
The DC directed that power failure/breakdown must be brought to the notice of Deputy Commissioner, within 10 minutes of the occurrence. He directed for replacing of damaged Transformers within 8 hours in urban areas and within 48 hours in rural areas as per the timeline set up by the government.
He further asked the concerned Executive Engineer to ensure that the Junior Engineers should remain available in the fields so that the public grievances could be addressed in shortest possible time. He directed that the officials deputed at the Receiving Stations must maintain a proper log book.
He further directed to regularise all the illegal connections, identify the illegal connections on the dedicated line and to achieve the revenue/ arrears targets as soon as possible.
Reviewing the working of Jal Shakti department, he directed the concerned XEN to immediately restore the water supply, if there is in any and notify the time of its restoration in public domain.
He further directed to use water tankers to substantiate the drinking water supply in stressed areas and assured that the funds for the same would be provided by District administration from SDRF.
