DC Rajouri discusses implementation of National child labour project scheme

 

RAJOURI : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today asked for effective implementation of the National Child Labour project scheme in the district as he discussed the modalities for realising desired results here at a meeting with the concerned officers.

National Child Labour project is a scheme launched by the Central Government of India to facilitate rehabilitation of child labourers and to aid their introduction to formal education with vocational training at NCLP Centres.

Under the Scheme, the children in the age group of 9-14 years are withdrawn from work and put into NCLP Special Training Centres, where they are provided with bridge education, vocational training, mid-day meal, stipend, health care etc. before being mainstreamed into the formal education system.

The DC asked the concerned departments to make extra efforts to reach out to the children working in different places and conditions.

The DC directed the concerned officer to identify the targeted groups and submit the report in this regard within ten days.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sachin Dev Singh, DFO, Arshdeep Singh; ASP, Vivek Shekhar; DPO, Kartar Sing; ACR, Tahir Mustafa Malik, DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat and other officers.

The meeting was also attended by Chairman CWC, and members CWC Rajouri.
