DC Rajouri flags off five day trekking expedition to Dokhs of Peer Panjal

 

RAJOURI : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today flagged off a group of 250 youth for a five day trekking expedition to Dokhs of Peer Panjal from the base camp Darhal.

ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ARTO, Shami Kumar and DIO, Narinder Kumar and other officers and officials were also present on the occasion.

Interacting with the trekkers, the DC said that the objective of the trekking expedition is to promote national integration and imbibe a spirit of adventure in the youth, build self-confidence and enhance their awareness about the environment, local flora and fauna.

The DC also urged the trekkers to take full advantage of the trip and learn from each other by sharing their experience and knowledge about nature and places. “Exchange of ideas in the lap of nature and experiencing adventure will help you in overall character development and see the world more vividly” the DC told the trekking group.

He informed them that adequate arrangements have been put in place for the smooth and successful conduct of the trekking expedition and more such expeditions will be organised on regular intervals.

The DC said that this is for the first time that the trekkers from within and outside the district are going on an expedition to the Dokhs of the Peer Panjal. He hoped that the expedition would attract more tourists to the area and spread positivity among the society.
