DC Rajouri reviews implementation of Forest Rights Act

Stresses on identification of Community assets within forest boundaries

 

RAJOURI : To review the progress regarding the implementation of the Forest Rights Act in the district, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today convened a meeting with the concerned officers, here in his office chamber.

Among the others, DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ACD, Sushil Khajuria, AC Defence, Saleem Quershi; Warden WildLife,; BDO Rajouri and Chander Kant Bhagat attended the meeting.

A comprehensive discussion on the current status of the Act, progress on receiving of claims, identification of the community assets within forest boundaries, hundred per cent coverage of the left out eligible beneficiaries and other necessities about the effective implementation of the act on ground level were held in the meeting.

The DC, while speaking, during the meeting asked the concerned officers to devise a suitable mechanism for the identification and universal coverage of left out eligible beneficiaries so that they can be provided necessary benefits under the Act.

He also directed for the identification of the community assets within the forest boundaries like bowlis, bridal path, grazing areas, tractor roads etc at the earliest.

Underlining the need for disseminating awareness at the grassroots level, the DC directed for taking appropriate measures to provide necessary awareness among the masses about the Act for its effective implementation at ground level.

DC also emphasized upon the concerned departments to work with added zeal for getting the desired results within the fixed time frame.
